Got to keep up with the web. Here is a collection of pages I've bookmarked.
American Airlines redux
This is an interesting saga. Dustin Curtis did a redux of the AA site, and received a reply from an AA UX designer. The problem with the AA site? Top level management basically. The designers and developers are obviously very capable.
Zune HD - IE6
Oh my! The Zune HD (when it ships) will comes with a "version of IE 6 that has been highly customised and optimised for multi-touch". Please no - just when IE6 was looking down and out.
Interesting statistics given in this article. When it comes down to it, basically you better make the service you offer your customer very good.
Motivate a programmer
Nothing encourages a programmer to work hard and faster than competition. Of course fostering friendly competition is is a fine line to walk as a manager...
Not really UI related, but a fantastic video - perhaps the "perfect" UI will create feelings such as this generates.
Launch a business, not a side project
If you want your dream to become true you need to dedicate yourself to it. The odd hour here and there and a few twitter posts just does not cut it. Superb article.
The house of tomorrow
A nice view of what you can do with a projector pointed at almost every surface - particularly like the kitchen work top projector, I could use that!
RIP Fixed width design?
Interesting speculation post which suggests that fixed width web-design might not be flexible enough for devices such as the Kindle. Bring on the flexible CSS and SVG designs!
